Weaver's Knot Tutorial
Color change without all the weaving-in
Love color changes but hate weaving in ends? I've got you! I learned this weaver's knot technique that makes color changes a weave-free breeze!
There are plenty of video tutorials of this technique on Youtube, but here's a quick and dirty description with pictures:
-
You've reached the point where you want to make a color change.
-
Cut yarn, leaving about 1/4" tail
-
Pull out last one or two stitches so you have room to work. Don't worry, you'll re-crochet these stitches after forming your knot
-
Lay two ends of yarn parallel to each other with the working yarn and your project to one side and the ball of new yarn to the other
-
Make an L shape with the working yarn
-
Tie the new yarn in a single knot around the upper arm of the L
-
Make a reverse L shape with the new yarn
-
Tie the working yarn in a single knot around the upper arm of the reverse L
-
Pull 2 ends tight so the knots bump into each other.
-
Trim ends.
-
Continue crocheting with your new color!
