Coffee Mug Cozy
Keep your coffee or tea hot in style with this FREE Coffee Mug Cozy Pattern.

I have made lots of cozies for mugs, but they always stretch out with use. I decided to write up my own pattern using Linked Double Crochet because this stitch does not stretch as much. LDC is a sturdy stitch that will keep your coffee mug cozy fitting like new after many, many uses!
Materials:
-
Worsted weight yarn in at least two colors. To make a whole set, add more colors if desired. I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn.
-
5.5 mm hook
-
Scissors
Special Stitches & Techniques:
Weaver’s knot Use if desired for color changes to avoid having ends to weave in at the end. See tutorial for instructions or work color change using your preferred method.

LDC - Linked Double Crochet Worked similar to a normal double crochet, but instead of starting your stitch with a YO, insert hook into the crossbar of the DC just worked (or into the middle ch of the chain just worked if it is the first st in the row) and pull up loop. This loop takes the place of your YO. From here, work like a normal DC (pull through the first two loops, then YO and pull through the last 2 loops).

PS - Puff St YO, insert hook into indicated stitch, pull up loop, *YO, insert hook into same st, pull up loop,* repeat from * one more time. Pull through all 7 loops on hook. Close the st with a ch 1.
Notes:
Beginning ch does not count as a stitch
